Yesterday, at Casa do Alentejo Community Centre, I hosted the second of a series of launch events for my latest book, Militants, Mobsters and Mavericks. It was a wonderful evening with about 50 people in the audience, many of them friends, colleagues, and familiar faces from the Portuguese community. I am grateful to Andreia Pereira, of Casa do Alentejo, for including this event in their annual Cultural Week. I am grateful also to Humberto Silva for being the MC and discussant, and for his very kind words about my book.
